Quincy Wilson’s life is moving at lightning speed, with each day blending into the next.

As one of the fastest teenagers in the world, he’s no stranger to keeping up with the whirlwind pace of his achievements. Just six months ago, at the Paris Olympics, Wilson made history by winning relay gold, becoming the youngest male track and field champion in Olympic history. Yet despite such a monumental accomplishment, Wilson isn’t looking back—he’s already focused on the future.

“No gold medal, none of that in mind. When I’m practicing, I’m worrying about my future goals, nothing in the past. I can’t go and change what I’ve done.” His humble approach reflects his unrelenting drive and determination as he sets his sights on what lies ahead.

It’s easy to forget that Wilson is still just a high school student. He won’t graduate from Bullis School in Maryland until next year, and he continues to juggle his academic responsibilities alongside his athletic aspirations. This means waking up at 5 a.m. each day and catching the bus at 6:15 to arrive at school by 7:30. “Do I like early mornings? No,” says Wilson. “But I have to do what I gotta do.”

After a full day of school, he heads straight to the track for practice from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Then, it's back home for more homework and test preparations. It’s a schedule that might seem overwhelming for most teenagers, but for Wilson, balancing the demands of school and elite athletics is just part of the process.

Despite his hectic lifestyle, Wilson emphasizes the importance of academics. “I think I’m more focused in the classroom than I am on the track, and that can tell you a lot,” he explains. His dedication to his studies is reflected in his impressive academic performance—he maintains an A average throughout the semester. “All my life, I’ve always had an A average,” he adds with confidence.

Wilson’s academic interests are diverse, ranging from anatomy and physiology to pre-calculus and photography. He’s also excited about an engineering project in which he is studying how buildings are reinforced to withstand various types of earthquakes. “I’m not taking classes just like PE,” he says with a smile. “I’m taking every single class an 11th grader would and some.” His passion for learning is just as strong as his passion for running, and he takes pride in excelling in both areas.

When it comes to his future, Wilson is still undecided about where he will attend college, but he knows exactly what he wants in a school. “Great athletics, great academics, great teammates, great support – just great staff all around,” he says. Wilson is aiming for a school that can provide both the academic rigor and the athletic support needed to help him continue thriving.

For now, Wilson is focused on the indoor season, competing in meets across the East Coast. Recently, he broke his own indoor high school 400-meter record in Boston, clocking an impressive 45.66 seconds. This achievement was just the latest in a string of standout performances for Wilson, who continues to push himself to new limits. His next challenge will be the 600-meter race at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York City.

With such an ambitious schedule, Wilson’s future looks incredibly bright. But as he continues to break records and balance his education, the question remains: what’s next for this teenage phenom? Will he continue to rewrite the record books and leave his mark on the world of track and field? Only time will tell.
